So my talented sister-in-law has just launched her new business. Handmade homeware and interior design. Soft furnishings and objects for the home that make fantastic personal gifts too! I love the materials used and the attention to detail. Check out the childrens play AGA, it really is a fantastic addition to any little girls kitchen!

Help fill the gaps..

Greetings from a sun soaked Dublin city...summer is definately here for sure, but the big question is how long will it last?

I have been looking at purchasing a tallboy chest of drawers to fill an alcove by a chimney breast in my living space. I have narrowed it down to two possibilities so far...both are g plan, and both suit because of the narrow width measurement













 
I love this G Plan Quadrille piece. The body is teak and the legs and handles are rosewood.

Second choice is a piece from the later fresco range...


I love the handles on the fresco range. Again the contrast of darker wood on the beading and handles makes these pieces stand out...

The big deciding factor is pric, with the Quadrille pieces usually fetching twice as much as the later Fresco range... but we all deserve a treat once in a while don't we? I wonder if anyone had any other alternatives?

The sun continues to shine in Dublin, and summer is hopefully here for another day at least! Maybe its because of my job, but I keep thinking of the first impression a hallway can make when you walk into a home. I think I am becoming obsessed! So I searched a bit more and found these fantastic examples of how to make that massive first impression on a great blog at Doorsixteen. For a more practical approach...what about the way these “negative-runners” look? Big job to strip and sand but imagine how easy the maintenance would be! Nice...

The power of white... Without all the white, the warmth of the banister and radiator would not come through and that fab pale blue paint would look too cold. Everything about this space is perfect—I love that tiny sliver of blue wall peeking out from the room at the end of the hallway.

Carl Hansen & Son recently reissued the Wegner Ch33 chair, so you no longer have to scour specialty auctions to get your hands on this beauty.

Inside out..inspiring hallway

I often think Hallways get overlooked as we focus on creating inspiring living spaces, tranquil bedrooms and yet they are the first rooms we see when entering a house and the last we see as we leave. I love the simplicity here, and the emphasis that the inside of the front door should be the central feature to the overall space. Clever how the mirror creates a feeling of added space and echoes the pastel colour across the hallway wall.
